Ian Britt is a well respected Singer/Songwriter from Sheffield, EnglandBorn in Sheffield and moving .. a colourful youth & adolescence, Ian fled his roots to study music in the notoriously musical city of Manchester, He signed to the independent label Jalapeno Records in London in 2005 while making himself a name locally as an acoustic singer-songwriter.A debut album was recorded in 2005 with a duo of dance/breaks producers and on release was met with a positive and encouraging reaction from national/regional press/radio. The album "One Day I" culminated in a grand and commandingly produced soulful, Trans-Atlantic sound with mature, honest, sometimes humorous lyrical writing, assured technical ability and a keen melodic pop-rock-radio sensibility.Ian split from his label in early 2006 and moved back to his hometown of Sheffield. Apart from touring he spent his days writing new material which he recorded in his own home studio. The result of this can be heard on the independently released "Big Light" (2007) a 6 track EP which received very good reviews and a lot of attention from both the English and Dutch press and radio air play on Dutch National Radio and UK BBC radio 1.Ian Britt is now working from both the UK and the Netherlands.Ian made his Dutch national TV debut in March 2007 on NOX / TV10, on which he performed live and acoustic. In October and November 2007 he toured The Netherlands and performed at the Crossing Border Festival in The Hague, he supported Justin Nozuka in "het Paard van Troje" but also performed at many small, intimate venues and radio stations. In January 2008 he played at the "Live in your Living Room" edition of the Noorderslag Festival, alongside "Grote Prijs" (Dutch song contest) winner Leine and Dutch band The Black Atlantic. In 2008 Ian will be crossing the North Sea between the UK and The Netherlands regularly and will use the Dutch city of Zaandam as a home base to tour from.At the moment Ian is recording songs for a second full album, which will be independently released in November 2008. Following this there will be a long tour through Western Europe and the US in which of course include The Netherlands. Besides his solo-performances, Ian will be performing at some venues with a band.Ian Britt is a must see for 2008. Everywhere he goes he succeeds in capturing peoples' hearts with his accessible music which he shares with his audience as a true troubadour.
