Brokedown CadillacThe seeds for Brokedown Cadillac were planted five years ago on a rainy night in March, when L.A. newcomer Corri English walked into the Burbank Bar and Grille and discovered Randy Dunham performing in his resident acoustic duo, Radio Flyer. Two drinks later, Corri was onstage singing Pink's "Just Like a Pill," and cementing her place in Randy's head as his next potential partner. Sure enough, when the other half of his duo landed a place on a Broadway tour, Randy called Corri to join him. She accepted. While performing every Saturday night together, the two quickly discovered their mutual connection to country music and began writing songs over the next year and a half for their own original country music project. It became apparent quickly enough that Corri would be the lead singer, with Randy accompanying her in harmony and counter melody. After writing a couple dozen songs and satisfied they had found their "sound," somewhere in the company of Shania Twain and early Dixie Chicks, Corri and Randy ventured to Corri's native Atlanta, Georgia to commission famed vocal producer, Jan Smith, to produce their four song E.P.Their timing could not have been better. Upon completion of the demo, director Andy Fickman happened into the Burbank Bar and Grille and watched the duo perform. Mr. Fickman was in pre-production on the film "Race to Witch Mountain," starring Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, and asked for a demo. Corri and Randy were in the midst of hiring a backline to round out their sound, when Mr. Fickman offered the band a role in the film, including an extensive performance sequence and featuring five original songs. Within weeks, Brokedown Cadillac, now consisting of Randy's longtime drummer Danny Reuland, bassist Jeff LeGore, and country hotshot, Don Ian, on lead guitar, were in the studio recording original material for the movie. With the filming behind them, Brokedown Cadillac is excited to be playing local LA clubs, along with upcoming shows in Bakersfield, Palmdale, San Diego, and Orange County.
