About Me

I am happily married to him and our son is home from Iraq.
"Home. I have no home. Hunted... despised... living like an animal -- the jungle is my home! But I will show the world that I can be its master. I shall perfect my own race of people -- a race of atomic supermen that will conquer the world!" by Scott Alexander & Larry Karaszewski from Ed WoodComplaint Of A Poet Manqué Aldous Huxley We judge by appearance merely: If I can't think strangely, I can at least look queerly. So I grew the hair so long on my head That my mother wouldn't know me, Till a woman in a night-club said, As I was passing by, "Hullo, here comes Salome…"I looked in the dirty gilt-edged glass, And, oh Salome! there I was - Positively jewelled, half a vampire, With the soul in my eyes hanging dizzily Like the gatherer of proverbial samphire Over the brink of the crag of sense, Looking down from perilous eminence Into a gulf of window night. And there's straw in my tempestuous hair, And I'm not a poet: but never despair! I'll madly live the poems I shall never write.freedom is a space one hundred miles long and 5 feet wide

Baghdad

"But after everything was pinned down and neat and in its place, when everything was safe and certain, when the towns were well enough fixed and the loneliness was at a minimum, then the sophisticates came in from Earth. They came on parties and vacations, on little shopping trips for trinkets and photographs and the 'atmosphere'; they came to study and apply sociological laws; they came with stars and badges and rules and regulations, bringing some of the red tape that had crawled across Earth like an alien weed, and letting it grow on Mars wherever it could take root. They began to plan people’s lives and libraries; they began to instruct and push about the very people who had come to Mars to get away from being instructed and ruled and pushed about."
The Naming of Names, The Martian Chronicles, Ray BradburyOkay, this is where I let my silly little ego out and do a couple of polls. Sometimes I manipulate my answers so I can sound like I'm so something or other.

I web design sometimes. I like comic books with Frank Frazetta covers, philosophers and their philosophies, ansi, maxbbs & rip art during the early 90s

I like people. I like animals. I like things. I guess I'm just interested. I like city water that comes out of the tap not out of a bottle, regular (no hazelnuts or amarettos) coffee, espresso, that kind of tea with spices in it (chai tea?), wine and gin 'n tonics. I know people who would like to have this information. Now both of them have it.

"We don't read and write poetry because it's cute. We read and write poetry because we are members of the human race. And the human race is filled with passion. And medicine, law, business, engineering, these are noble pursuits and necessary to sustain life. But poetry, beauty, romance, love, these are what we stay alive for." Walt Whitman

I'd like to meet:

Conan the Barbarian, Frank Frazetta . I did meet Mrs. Frazetta and gave her my earrings because they were perfect for her. I am going back to the Frazetta museum this year, because.

Music:

Stan Getz: focus, Ten Years After, King Crimson, Miles Davis, Charlie Christian, Chopin, Charlie Parker, Frank Sinatra, old metallica (it was fun at the time), jazz, Black Sabbath, Willie Mitchell, Bill Black, Jimi Hendrix, Django Reinhardt, Stéphane Grappelli, "Caravan" done by just about anyone and 90s alternative (Pearl Jam, STP, Alice in Chains, Nirvana) was just so FUN! My all time favorite is the "Creation" from Bride of Frankenstein. It's composed by Franz Waxman. Sure the movie is old, but close your eyes some time it's on and just listen to the music. and so on..

Movies:

2001: A Space Odyssey
In no particular order: Sin City, Full Metal Jacket, A Clockwork Orange, Eyes Wide Shut, Equilibrium, Batman Begins, Lawrence of Arabia ( Peter O'Toole ), Bride of Frankenstein ( Ernest Thesiger's Dr. Pretorius & James Whale ), Gods and Monsters, Coppola movies (I like Coppola wines, too), Hamlet 2000, Basquiat, The Crow, Walk the Line (thanks to my son & his friend for suggesting I watch this one), The Three Stooges, Richard Burton movies, Bette Davis movies, Prophecy, The Eternal, Snatch, Kill Bill I & II, Ed Wood, The Godfather (all III)

..

Television:

I never really liked watching TV - too many commercials. I only watched Star Trek and Cecil the Seasick Sea Serpent.

Heroes:

My son who is in the Army. All military people, actually. Everyone listed under books, people who don't give up. Just about anyone who's not me. I think most people are or have been a hero at some point.
This profile edited by me. Now is the winter of our discontent Made glorious summer by this sun of York; And all the clouds that lour'd upon our house In the deep bosom of the ocean buried. Now are our brows bound with victorious wreaths; Our bruised arms hung up for monuments; Our stern alarums changed to merry meetings, Our dreadful marches to delightful measures. Grim-visaged war hath smooth'd his wrinkled front; And now, instead of mounting barded steeds To fright the souls of fearful adversaries, He capers nimbly in a lady's chamber To the lascivious pleasing of a lute. But I, that am not shaped for sportive tricks, Nor made to court an amorous looking-glass; I, that am rudely stamp'd, and want love's majesty To strut before a wanton ambling nymph; I, that am curtail'd of this fair proportion, Cheated of feature by dissembling nature, Deformed, unfinish'd, sent before my time Into this breathing world, scarce half made up, And that so lamely and unfashionable That dogs bark at me as I halt by them; Why, I, in this weak piping time of peace, Have no delight to pass away the time, Unless to spy my shadow in the sun And descant on mine own deformity: And therefore, since I cannot prove a lover, To entertain these fair well-spoken days, I am determined to prove a villain And hate the idle pleasures of these days. Plots have I laid, inductions dangerous, By drunken prophecies, libels and dreams, To set my brother Clarence and the king In deadly hate the one against the other: And if King Edward be as true and just As I am subtle, false and treacherous, This day should Clarence closely be mew'd up, About a prophecy, which says that 'G' Of Edward's heirs the murderer shall be. Dive, thoughts, down to my soul: here Clarence comes. Richard III
