Raconteur, Ne'er-do-Well and All-Around Clever Guy

About Me

I write a lot of things. You may have heard of me from the late, lamented Clockwork Storybook; I was a founding member of that "shared world anthology of urban fantasy." My latest book, BLOOD & THUNDER: THE LIFE AND ART OF ROBERT E. HOWARD, was just nominated for a World Fantasy Award. Here's something cool: Gardner Dozois gave my story, "A Whim of Circumstance," from Cross Plains Universe, an honorable mention in his latest Year's Best anthology. I've got plenty of irons in the fire: old time radio scripts, essays, reviews, and a half-finished period mystery.
