Brady Clarke

The Pressed Starlings are go.

About Me

Brady Clarke is the sole member of this 'ere outfit; unless one would wish to include the guitar, which is quite an important part. He has been singing and writing songs since late 2004. His first song, "In The Sun", was recorded in September of 2005 when he finally figured out how to record things with a microphone to a computer. Soon after, it was distributed around, to general malaise, malcontent and malaria. However, better recordings followed, and thus rose this MySpace page, and a stellar music career (ha!).Brady Clarke is the son of Mal Clarke, acclaimed Australian musician (see his huge career around here ) and a way better guitarist than Brady will ever be. Brady is also known to talk about himself in the third person, and you shouldn't take anything that he says too seriously.
If you'd like some more songs, feel free to ask him .
He is currently dividing his time between writing and playing in The LoveBuckles and The Pressed Starlings; The Pressed Starlings being the indie-folk-pop project dealing with his solo songs (as well as those of the lovely Katie Costello), and The LoveBuckles being a funk-rock band that will make your ears fucking explode with awesomeness. Be sure to check one of them out some time.

Sounds Like: Sputnik's returning to earth, and it's not sure whether it's happy to be back home or unhappy that it's dying. Also, it has distortion on, and falsetto and screaming, but overall it's rather ambivalent about the whole thing. So it thinks. It doesn't really have a brain, though, so you shouldn't take its word for anything. Just listen to the music, and it'll tell you how it sounds.

The Pressed Starlings, or, So Much For That Hiatus, Eh?

Heh.  Didn't even last a month. So, this is the new name I'll be going under.  I'm also working with Katie Costello on the cello/piano/viola; she's contributing her own songs as well.  Maybe some more...

Hiatus? I hate us? I love buckles.

It's not really a hiatus, as much as it just a lack of productivity and gigs.  When I get some motivation and a live band I may start crawling around to the usual haunts for scrappings of gigs and suc...

New song! with a tasty side of Sydney gig update!

Finally, finally, FINALLY recorded this song. The lyrics are old as, music's new, singer sounds like an angry teenager with a Franglais accent in the word "rea-zonn". All acoustic, the delay effects ...

Electricity

That's right folks, this little ducky has shamelessly turned his back on his entire hippy-acoustic-stuff-loving fan base and gone and rerecorded a version of 'For The Love Of' as nature intended: with...

Brisbane Metro busking, possible Sydney/Melbourne gigs in January/February?

Okay, not a lot's going around over here in Brady-land - writing a few new songs every now and then, but no gigs currently. However, on weekday afternoons you can find me (sporadically) in the city, ...
