“THE HASSLE" OF FINDING WORK
• Look for a new job in person or over the phone
(like asking someone on a 1st date)
• Finding a job worth applying for
(like deciding what I want to do with my life)
• Fill out applications, send in my resume
(like handing in an assignment)
• Make myself available to receive a phone call that may never come
(like getting stood up)
• Call around to follow up
(like asking for a 2nd date)
• Preparing myself for an interview
(like preparing for a date and exam at once)
• Attending interview – faking enthusiasm
(like being set up with a mate’s ugly friend)
• Going back for further interviews
(like detention or a court appointment)
• Make myself available to start whenever they need me
(like skipping school to go to church)
• Put my entire life on hold until I’m established in my new job
(like being grounded)
• Suck up to some old loser in order to get the shifts I need
(like going drinking with your lecturer)
