About Me

I am an OMNITHEIST. This kind of philosophy affects everything in my life. I am fascinated by everything. The trick is to be curious about things that don't interest you. I have an insatiable appetite for literature. I read mostly non-fiction books. However, I love comic books and read those frequently as well because I am a fan of the graphic arts and literature. Good comics perfectly synchronize the two forms. I would rather go to a book store, museum, or concert than a dance club, mall, or bar. If I go to a bar to see a concert, I am there to hear the music and see the band. I am not there to dance, pick up girls, grind on the dance floor, or drink. I am spiritual and political. The political belief system with which I most agree is Anarcho-syndicalism. I actively pursue enlivened and educated debate with my fellow humans. My desire to learn, explore, understand, and create drives my existence. I do not exercise or meditate as much as I should, so stop asking. My goal is to live consciously in the present moment at all times while expressing the endless gratitude I feel for creation. For fun, I like to play games. I do not like head games but I do enjoy board, card, and video games. I love movies and would rather see a film than any TV show. I love nature, camping, traveling, and just plain being outside. I am gregarious and make friends easily. While the aforementioned is true, I would rather spend time alone or with a few friends and I am most comfortable when in my home. I am driven toward achieving true balance. I am an animal lover and a vegan.

Let's Find Out!

I'd like to meet:

A living Buddha. In lieu of that, Noam Chomsky springs to mind. Really I just like meeting new, intelligent, informed, and interesting people.
Here is one of my favorite CHOMSKY quotes: "I was attracted to anarchism as a young teenager, as soon as I began to think about the world beyond a pretty narrow range, and haven't seen much reason to revise those early attitudes since. I think it only makes sense to seek out and identify structures of authority, hierarchy, and domination in every aspect of life, and to challenge them; unless a justification for them can be given, they are illegitimate, and should be dismantled, to increase the scope of human freedom. That includes political power, ownership and management, relations among men and women, parents and children, our control over the fate of future generations (the basic moral imperative behind the environmental movement, in my view), and much else. Naturally this means a challenge to the huge institutions of coercion and control: the state, the unaccountable private tyrannies that control most of the domestic and international economy, and so on. But not only these. That is what I have always understood to be the essence of anarchism: the conviction that the burden of proof has to be placed on authority, and that it should be dismantled if that burden cannot be met. Sometimes the burden can be met. If I'm taking a walk with my grandchildren and they dart out into a busy street, I will use not only authority but also physical coercion to stop them. The act should be challenged, but I think it can readily meet the challenge. And there are other cases; life is a complex affair, we understand very little about humans and society, and grand pronouncements are generally more a source of harm than of benefit. But the perspective is a valid one, I think, and can lead us quite a long way."

If I posted a personal add it might read something like this: Wanted: friendly, companionably reclusive, socially unacceptable, alcoholically abstemious, tirelessly talkative, zealously unzealous, spiritually intense, minimally turquoise, maximally ecstatic moon, seeks moth or moths with similar qualities for purposes of telephonic seduction, Tristanesque trip-taking, and permanent flame-fluttering, no photos required, financial status immaterial, all ages and non-competitive vocations considered, applicants should furnish sets of sample conversations with notarized certification of marital disinclination, references re: low decibel vocal consistency, itinerary and sample receipts from previous successfully completed out-of-town moth flights, all submissions treated confidentially..."
(Bonus points if anyone can tell me where this originated.)

I have wonderful friends.
