Angi started her music career when she started learning the keyboard in 1998. She took some lessons for a short period of time, and then decided to learn the guitar in 1999. Self-taught, she learnt what she could from people around her, and eventually started to write her own songs.
From there, she took her music to the next level: from just playing for friends, family, etc; she went on to study jazz at Tshwane University of Technology for one year...majoring in vocals. She played with a couple of bands there, and had a duet going with a pianist, in which they performed jazz standards. From there she started her own band, who performed her original material. The band was together for about 2mths, but split up due to unavoidable situations. Angi then decided to go solo. After an audition with a company called SAMA (South African Music and Arts), she started doing a few gigs with them, at their showcase evenings.
She then moved to the UK to try her luck there. After a year of trying to find her feet, she met up with her guitarist and producer, Daniel, with whom she is currently recording her EP. As well, as doing her own music, Angi also sings in a praise & worship band, for a youth event that happens once a month in Walthamstow. She is also involved in her church band and helps out with the church's youth band too. She hopes to start working with teenagers by sharing her testimony and music in high schools, in the hopes that she could show them what amazing power God has to change our lives around!!!
