Greek? Portuguese? Italian? Red Indian? I've heard it all, and yet none are even close! The closest guess would in fact be Scottish! But then again you're not reading this to find out what colour the blood in my veins is. No, you're probably reading this because you're curious to find out what type of a nutcase actually sits down in front of his pc, and meddles for hours on end with funny little sequences and loops, and eventually turns out with something vaguely resembling a dance tune!
Why? Cos I love it and I don't really have the time for it, so every time I sit down and play with my music, I get that sweet sense of guilt that allows me to savour the moment - something like a naughty little boy playing with matches for the first time! Ok, so unfortunately I don't make music for a living! Maybe one day when I'm big, I'll get the chance to do this. But in the meantime, I'm just a regular guy holding out a couple of other day jobs, and trying to fit in a little hobby on the side.
How? With my pc, a couple of programs, the only one deserving real mention being a simple little application called Reason! Ok, so maybe it's not that simple, and maybe it's not that little either! Reason has actually done nothing short of blowing me away by its power! It's an awesome tool, and without it, I dunno where my music would have been! When? Well, I would be unfair not to mention the man who got me going in the world of electronic music - Etienne de Villiers - he has been a continual inspiration to me to keep at it - even tho I have had breaks of up to 2 years at a time where I have not touched my music - due to the business of life! So to answer the question of 'when' - I started meddling with electronic music about 7 years ago. My progress has been sporadic and as a hobby, has had to fit in around my lifestyle. A large part of my music has been very experimental as I've endeavoured to find my own style and sound. Have I managed to accomplish this unique style yet? I don't think I'm even close, so bear with me while I mess around a little longer!
Who? Well some of my greatest inspirations have been the European giants like Armin van Buuren, DJ Tiesto, Paul van Dyk and others. These guys make awesome tunes! One day when I'm big maybe perhaps..... Oh well, I guess all one can do is keep practising - and enjoy every minute of the journey!!!!
And with that said, there is only one thing left to say.... Hope you enjoy the tunes!!!!
