SKALBARD

I have chosen the name Skalbard for this project, combining the common term "bard" with the derived "skal" from the term "Skaldic". I am neither bard nor poet, but I aspire to improve in this area.My hope with Skalbard is to one day be a fully functioning band, but until the right people come into my life to pull it off, I will be subjecting those who choose to follow this path with me to rough recordings and song ideas in the process of being fleshed out.The music I hope to bring into this project will range from the triumphant to the forlorn, from the victorious to the crestfallen, from festive to melancholy. To do this, elements from Black Metal, Death Metal, Folk Metal, Acoustic, and Drone music will be employed. The only limit is the limitations of talent that rest so heavily upon me. Still, this music has been bubbling up inside of me and I have to get it out.The first song posted is entitled "Winterfylleth", a festive, though downtuned jaunt through a young man's realization that being born in the month of Winterfylleth has placed Winter in his heart. He must dispel myths and rumours about the Winterfylleth and lead his people away from ritual and into the Light of truth.
