The Sundial (sympho gothic/doom metal), Russia, Kaliningrad.
The band started to play 8th March, 2003. At first it was band "No Time To Cry."
The band "No Time To Cry" was based in year 2000. At the summer, 2002 was in the band Anastasya Kuznetsova as vocalist invited, and later became she also keybordist of the band.
The violinist, Alexey Smirnov, is studying in the same faculty with keybordist Anastasya, in that way they met.
As in the authumn, 2004 drummer Aleksandr Shablin came to test himself for drummer and is still playing in the band.
The first gig was yet under name "No Time To Cry" in Kaliningrad rock-club "The Bulls" at 8th March, 2003.
Fisrt gig was great, but after concert was evident, that the band has new sound, and we decided to change the bandname to "The Sundial." We have Demo "Sonnet Of Silence," recorded in 2004.
In winter of 2006 Dmitry Muratov came to the band as lead vocal, and the last member at this moment - guitarist Michail.
In new 2008 year new album called “Transition†will come out that was recorded in October-November 2007 at Studio-X (Poland). Record session was going on under guidance of sound engineer Szymon Czech (ex-Prophecy guitar, NIYA guitar) who accepted to take place of session guitarist at period of recording. Famous in Poland, Marcin Kielbaszewski, sound engineer (orchestration) and studio owner, assisted too.

HeavyMusic.Ru: "The Kaliningrad gothic-doom band Sundial released english-speaking demo-album "Sonnet Of Silence." Five songs on demo-cd. Demo begins with short atmospheric intro.
Then follow 4 not less atmospheric, but more long songs. Slow and beautiful compositions leave pleasant impressions. Musicians play well, and quality of record for a demo-album is even well. The violin adds to music gothic sound, and it makes music more interesting..."

Doom-Metal.Ru: "One more, together with DisPater, gothic-doom band of Kaliningrad. Yes, exactly together - because Sundial's musicians are no less professional and talented as their countrymen. It starts to seem to me, that the word-combination "band from Kaliningrad" can signify excellent quality mark. By the listening of demo-album it seemed to me, that the musical atmosphere reminds something familiar. Firstly it seemed to me, that it is possible to lead any parallels with "The 3rd And The Mortal" or works of "Ashes You Leave." Sometimes, listening the music, it seemed to me, that the moments with a solo female vocal have some responses of album Estatic Fear "A Sombre Dance." But each time I corrected myself, that there is no similarity between these bands and Sundial. Thus, Sundial is very original band on russian, and on the european metal stage, in general!"

Ultimate-Guitar.com: "Out of all of the top band profiles, Sundial opted for a more dramatic path. Probably the most interesting element is the contrasting styles of keyboardist/vocalist Anastacia Kuznetsova and singer Dimitrii “Wolf†Muratov, who have polar opposite musical deliveries that keep things interesting. While Sundial lists sympho black metal as one of their genre styles, the guitar-oriented, edgy side is often kept in check more so than a lot of black metal bands out on the scene today. The quintet doesn’t shy from their darker nature, but it is usually balanced out by airy keyboard/piano solos that often are featured for long periods of time within each song."
