About Me

Rachel Rose Farber, coloratura soprano, is a recent graduate of SUNY Purchase College Conservatory of Music. She received her Bachelor's in Music, vocal performance, magna cum laude. " Farber has a superb coloratura voice, especially noted in Ariel's Act II aria "You three men of sin." Someday, she will make a fine Queen of the Night. " -Opera News She recently sang the role of Ariel in the East Coast premiere of The Tempest, by Lee Hoiby with Purchase Opera. Her other roles at Purchase have included Amore in L'incoronazione di Poppea and Amahl in Amahl and the Night Visitors. She was involved in Opera Scenes at Purchase including Madame Goldetrill from Mozart's Die Shauspieldirektor, and Cleopatra in Handel's Giulio Cesare. While at Purchase, she also had the opportunity to sing in concerts: Lieder Abend and Chanson Nuit, as well as her Junior and Senior recitals. Past roles with the Youth Opera Company of South Jersey have included: Monica in The Medium, Yum-Yum in The Mikado, Mabel in The Pirates of Penzance, and The Queen of the Night in The Magic Flute. She is the 2nd place winner of the Palm Beach Atlantic National Vocal Competition, and a scholarship recipient of Emily Grant. In March, she was awarded as a Grand Finalist in the International Grand Concours de Chant in Austin, Texas. She participated in The Neil Semer Summer Vocal Institute, in Coesfeld, Germany last summer. Rachel Rose also has a great love for the violin, and has been playing for 18 years. Rachel will be traveling to Freiburg, Germany in September to study German and study music. She then plans on applying to graduate schools in the US. Rachel Rose is managed by Lewis Artists' Management.
