About Me

A six-piece outfit from Washington, D.C., The Groaning creates gothic rock culled from punk, Celtic and classical elements, weaving voice, strings, wind and rhythm into driving, soul-wringing musical tapestries that explore humanitys desire to experience the divine.

The Groaning has performed in D.C. nightclubs, Richmond, Baltimore, North Carolina and NYC. Shows include gigs with local bands, as well as well-known acts such as Faith and the Muse, South Africa's The Awakening, Ego Likeness, Voltaire, The Last Dance, Hanzel und Gretyl and Bella Morte.

The Groaning's new full-length CD, "Dearly Beloved," was released in February 2007. Please go to our Web site to order "Dearly Beloved" for $12 + $2 S/H, or their 5-song EP released in January 2005 titled "Better Things" for $5 + $2 S/H.
