Originally formed in an abandoned laundromat in Vancouver, BC (with too much anxiety and too many guitars), The Shine On found themselves at the top of the the indie rock scene in 2005 with their debut EP, Young Flyers. They quickly made a name for themselves with a string of energetic, booze fueled performances and by capping the promotion for the EP with tour ending gig at West Vancouver’s Harmony Arts Festival.
The band’s latest album, Box Hymns, melds Geoff Nilson’s gritty, wistful melodies with shoe-gazing instrumentation to generate another collection of retro-inspired creations. With standout tracks like "Down, Down Down", "For You, In a Knit Hood" and "Admiral Atlantic" ready to wow audiences, The Shine On can count ..s of future success.
