What I like about doing Drag!!:) So I have to say I am itching to get back on stage and perform..lmao..I enjoy the ability to entertain and make people smile, not to mention for a brief moment be able to step outside of myself and become a charater:)!! How does this make my blood boil and stir for more of that stage-fright rush:)?? It just does, everytime I am about to step on stage I get these butterflies that linger, until the first step taken...The charater comes out full on that as they say, "I break a leg!"Being a Drag Performer is not about the money or the "fame" that comes a long with it. God knows the money isn't good and most of the "fame" that comes with is are the psyco lesbos stocking you:) It is about being able to find my nitch to give back and be a part of the gay community in a positive way.Meeting new people has always been one of the best perks about it, and when you do a show for a good cause, when the number adds up to what you and the other performers have collected there is a warm rush that comes over you. Some say it is the heat of the spotlight, or the rush of the stage fright, I say it is the power of change that is being unfolded at that one brief moment.Through entertainment, not only are you able to bring a brief light into someone elses life at the show, but you are holding the power of allowing them to shine thier light and passing it to someone else in need.Many of you know how I came to be humbled and be in need of the communities power of Charity. For those of you that do not, my father passed away, and had it not been for the amazing power of the people in my life and the community I would not of been able to carry out his wishes.There where many times I felt bad for not knowing how to give back, I tried volunteering at differant places, everywhere I moved to. Some reason I found that there was not many things I actually agreed with, could not find myself being able to put my heart into it and truely give.Now I have, in Drag King Performing, an ability to give back completly and do it with all of my heart.Thank you all for your support on comming to my shows, and letting me entertain you:)Nikki Kidd.I am me, just me, striving for personal growth everyday and living life to the fulliest extent.
