SATIN DOLLS

Los principios de SATIN DOLLS se remontan a marzo del 2004, cuando Karen y Chanto se reúnen con la intención de formar una banda. Esta sería la segunda ocasión en la que trabajarían juntos, después de haber colaborado en Prana, trío de Trip Hop, unos años atrás. Al poco tiempo, Joe, Juan y Diego se integran al proyecto, iniciando formalmente SATIN DOLLS.
Influenciados por el new wave, el punk y una nueva escena de rock que se expandía por todo el mundo, el grupo empieza a componer canciones y a moverse en los principales circuitos de rock de la Ciudad de México. A escasos seis meses de estar tocando juntos, SATIN DOLLS es firmado por Universal Music México.
Para octubre del 2005, la banda viaja a Miami con el objetivo de grabar parte de su primer E.P. con el productor argentino Gustavo Menéndez (Volumen Cero, Circo, JD Natasha, Cohete). Unos meses más tarde, grabarían dos canciones adicionales junto con el productor y músico integrante de Café Tacvba, Emmanuel "Meme" del Real (Ely Guerra, Natalia y la Forquetina, Liquits).
A lo largo tres años que llevan tocando, los SATIN DOLLS han pisado escenarios que van desde foros pequeños como el Bulldog, Hard Rock Live, Pasagüero, hasta conciertos masivos en el Foro Sol, durante el Vive Latino en las ediciones 2006, y 2007. A principios del 2007 abrieron la gira de PLACEBO en México, tocando en lugares como La Arena Monterrey, el Foro Vicente Fernandez, de Guadalajara y el salon Jose Cuervo del D.F.
Actualmente, la banda se encuentra trabajando en las canciones de su primer L.P (disco de duración larga), y tocando en diferentes ciudades de la Republica.
The band started in march of 2004, when Karen and Chanto got together to start a new music venture. This would be their second time together in a band, since they had previously been in Prana, a Trip Hop trio a few years back. Joe, Juan and Diego would later join them, giving birth to SATIN DOLLS.
Influenced mainly by new wave, punk and a new worldwide rock scene, the band began writing songs. At the same time they started performing in the main Rock and Roll venues of Mexico City, and after just six months of playing together signed a record contract with Universal Music Mexico.
In October of 2005, the band traveled to Miami, to record part of their first E.P, with the Argentinean producer Gustavo Menendez (Volumen Cero, Circo, JD Natasha, Cohete). A few months latter, they recorded two more songs with Emmanuel "Meme" del Real, who happens to be a band member of Café Tacvba, and has worked as a producer with many artists (Ely Guerra, Natalia y la Forquetina, Liquits).
During these two years of playing together, Satin Dolls have been in places that range from small venues such as Bulldog, Hard Rock Live, and Pasaguero, to massive concerts in Foro Sol, in the Vive Latino Festivals of 2006, and 2007. In the beginning of 2007, they were the opening act for PLACEBO during their Mexico Tour, playing in places such as the Arena Monterrey, the Vicente Fernandez Forum, in Guadalajara, and the Salon Jose Cuervo in Mexico City.
The band is currently working on the songs for their first L.P, and playing in various cities of Mexico.
