Competing in the Mister King of the Desert USofA MI Pageant 11/15

About Me

Anson Reign is a professional Drag King currently based in Phoenix, Arizona. Anson was a top ten finalist in the Mister USofA Male Illusionist 2008 pageant, the first national competition for male impersonators. He was the co-creator and co-host of Arizona's first weekly King and Queen Cabaret, Diamonds and Studs at Club Vibe, which ran from June 2007 to August 2008. He also created and directs the Reigning Men Drag King Troupe, which performs highly theatrical and unique themed shows monthly at venues including Club Vibe, Tucson's Howl at the Moon, and many more. He is a member of the Imperial Court of Arizona, and serves as the Artistic Director of Insurrection Theater Company. Anson also writes "Something Witty This Way Comes", a column for Dragtastic.com, is a cast member of Tucson's Cabaret Boheme, and performs with Valley improv troupe S'marmalade. He has performed at Phoenix Pride, Albuquerque Pride, and had the honor of hosting Tucson Pride 2008. His first drag son, Robin Harts, recently became the first alternate to Mister Arizona USofA MI and Anson couldn't be more proud!
Anson is also pleased to annonuce he will be competing in the first ever Mister King of the Desert USofA 2008 at the Herberger Theater on Novemebr 15th in Phoenix, Arizona. Club Vibe is his official sponsor.
Anson believes in giving back to the community through performance, and has organized or participated in fundraisers for the Arizona ALS Association, GLSEN, the Peace Foundation, 1in10 and more.
A versatile performer as comfortable doing gothic rock and country as show tunes and rock n roll, Anson can be seen at various venues throughout Arizona. His strong background in musical theater enables him to sing live as well as lip synch during performances. Please check his calendar for upcoming appearance information.
