MUSIC. (Writing it. Making it. Watching others make it.) THEATER. (The kind which requires a live audience. With apologies to Neil Simon, if you can film a play and it makes any sense - it ain't a play.) FILM. (I see one or two a year that really turn me on.) BOOKS. PHILOSOPHY. POLITICS. (The holy trinity of my life.) REAL MEN. HOT CHICKS. (Both rarer in this town than you'd expect.) FASHION. ART. (Fashion is the art you make everyday.) CAMPING. (Nothing like a couple days without electrical impulses to clear the head. People who don't camp tend to be crazier than necessary.) POKER. GUITAR HERO. BASEBALL. VINTAGE CARS. (My weekend staples.) THE DYING ART OF HOMEMAKING. (Because once you leave mommy and daddy, your home is yours to make. And people who make themselves homeless at home tend to be crazier than necessary.)
Hotties with guitars. In vintage cars. Duh.Now let's discuss the two primary social groups I would NOT like to meet:(1) Dudes looking to score. (Don't get me wrong. It's always flattering to be asked but it's just not gonna happen. Don't waste your time on me.)(2) Peddlers, solicitors and whores. Y'all are outta control. If you know neither my last name nor my email address and you still really wanna be my friend - send me a message and fascinate me. Otherwise, please go pester someone who doesn't work as hard as I do.
"By the time that I'm through singing, the bells from the schools of wars will be ringing." Rest in peace, Arthur Lee.
That First Snow is actually pretty good. All time faves - Amadeus, Goodfellas, Trainspotting.
The Sopranos owns me. South Park remains strong. 24, Studio 60, Lost, 30 Rock and Heroes have saved network television. And yes, I get my news from Jon Stewart.
Just finished Bukowski's Mockingbird Wish Me Luck despite my long-held aversion to poetry. Re-reading David Copperfield. It's a hell of a lot better than I remember. Also studying The New Human Revolution by Daisaku Ikeda and the World of Nichiren Daishonin's writings.
Sam Cooke. Neko Case. Buddy Holly. Alan Freed. Bob Pollard and all the Good Kids. Nam Myoho Renge Kyo.
