BIOGRAPHY:
2007 was a landmark year for NYC-based electro-glam outfit NAKED HIGHWAY. Not only did the group embark on their first European tour, but their latest video "Better Off Naked" has received heavy rotation in the States on MTV-LOGO and MTV-U. 2008 sees the group capitalizing on this momentum with bigger shows, more videos and new material!
While their debut album, 2006's Novocaine Smile, put them on the music map, it's their more recent DJ-friendly singles and music videos that provide a blueprint for Naked Highway's impending world domination. Singles such as "Better Off Naked" "Mr. Disco" and "Pop It Drop It" are a multi-stylistic stew of sounds as diverse as the city in which they were created. Jam-packed with catchy hooks lacing through serrated urban beats, Naked Highway double-dutches between dance/electronica and new wave rock along with elements of pop, hip-hop and freestyle. Rhythmic beats pulse through Splenda-sweetened synths & guitars and provide the pillars for their signature brand of downtown attitude and showmanship.
This spectacular showmanship has been key to Naked Highway's rising star. At every live show, Naked Highway unleashes the full potential of their already infectious music with costumes, choreography and charisma! This has led to high-profile international appearances, including performances at the SONAR FESTIVAL 2007 (Barcelona, Spain), CMJ MUSIC MARATHON (New York) 2006, NORTH BY NORTHEAST 2006 (Toronto, Canada), MIAMI WINTER MUSIC CONFERENCE 2005 and FOLSOM STREET FAIR 2005 (San Francisco). Naked Highway has also opened for noted acts such as Darren Hayes, Kelly Osborne, Freezepop, Hong Kong Counterfeit, Cazwell, Nada Surf, Sander Kleinenberg (DJ set) and Massive Attack vocalist Debbie Claire.
