After almost a year and a half, Cracka G is back with his third studio album COLORBLIND, which is being heralded as one of his smartest and most cohesive albums to date with 12 solid tracks filled with infectious beats, killer hooks, multi-layered vocals and lyrics that make you want to get up and shake your thing. “The album is called COLORBLIND because that’s what it is,†explains Cracka G, who is about to release the album on his Los Angeles’ based label Mung Bung Records. “Basically here I am, a skinny white gay boy living in Los Angeles singing hip hop. It’s unusual. It’s funny. It’s colorblind.†COLORBLIND is a distinctly different direction for the Crack. His first album, ELEKTRO-SHOCK, was a textbook electro record, while his second album, THE CRACK IS BACK, dabbled more in the realm of dance music. COLORBLIND is an artful and interesting fusion of hip hop and dance music intertwined with hot electro and R&B beats that work remarkably well together. The album features guest vocals from a slew of well-known singers, including Johnny Debut, J-syk-a, J'Miqua, Leeley, and Lil' E.
When asked why the dramatic shift in genre, the Crack had this to say: “I get bored easily. I needed a change. Also, I needed a challenge. This was an incredibly difficult but incredibly fun album to work on. I definitely took my time with it.†The album took over a year to write and record and, unlike his previous albums, had no leftover tracks once it was mastered. “My last two albums I had a lot of material that didn’t make the cut. With this album, I wrote 12 songs and stopped when it felt complete. I’m really proud with the final outcome. It's awesome. No filler songs. No bullshit. Just music. Real music.â€
