Vive la Musique

About Me

I was born and raised in France until the music took me to the UK for over 20 years now. You could say I am Franglish. If it weren't for my Dad's wish, I would not have come to the UK, but gone to the US instead. What made me want to learn English in the first instance, was Music, as most of the songs I liked, and the films , were American. I taught myself, watching old late night black and white movies before I even started learning the language at school. The Music came later, sadly when Elvis died, and I discovered rockabilly... I was a wild child...and one day, I picked up a guitar. I have a job but I do not like working very much, I'm too much of a dreamer and often feel that I do not belong in the real world, but is the world real? I'm more of a night owl, and I like lie-ins. I have been playing the guitar and singing for about 13 years now, I have written a few songs, which I hope to be sharing here with you soon. Oh and I like to be lazy, live and let live, still too young to die. Through all the thick and thin, thank you Mum and Dad.

My Interests

Apart from playing the guitar and writing songs/ tunes, I enjoy going to gigs and to the movies, reading, meditating, cooking- my approach is more like alchemy though! I also love walking, long country walks...

I'd like to meet:

Bears, brown, white and black. Orang Outangs, Koalas, Sloths, Squirrels...The musicians and actors I admire.Anouar-El-Sadat, Martin Luther-King and Marilyn Monroe.

Music:

Blues, Folk, Rock'n Roll....I'm open to persuasion and percussion. Elvis, B B King, Neil Young, Bob Dylan, Levon Helm, The Band, John Prine, Dan Hicks, Warren Zeavon, Peter Green , Frank Zappa, The Time Jumpers , John Martyn, Ry Cooder, Steve Earle, Stevie Wonder,Tom Waits, Bonnie Raitt, Little Feat, Jackson Browne, Joni Mitchell, Crosby, Stills and Nash, Delbert McClinton, Randy Newman, David Lindley, The Strawbs, The Pretenders, The Kinks, Ian Hunter, Mick Ronson, Rory Gallagher, Kate Bush, Led Zeppelin...and of course, Guthrie Govan... Not to forget Eddy Mitchell, Serge Gainsbourg, Renaud, Georges Moustaki, Georges Brassens, Jacques Brel, Michel Polnareff, Camille ... the list is infinite... and of the top of my head in no particular order...

Movies:

The Producers (the original one) , The Big Lebowsky, Withnail And I, The Green Mile, The Last Waltz, Betty Blue.........All films starring Jeff Bridges and John Wayne. Thanks to my Dad, I was raised watching cowboy films !
