Pat Bacon's Rebellion

About Me

Pat Bacon's Rebellion is a killer band made up of brilliant musicians playing brilliant ORIGINAL Americana music. The band formed in 2005, playing small clubs in central Minnesota. Singer Pat Bacon has released two independent CDs (2004 and 2005) and the band officially released "Let's Live Forever" on April 22, 2007. "Let's Live Forever" is easily one of the greatest cds ever recorded at the fabled Jacques' Place Studios. You should buy several copies and give them to all of your friends, especially those in the music industry.

PAT BACON'S REBELLION MEMBERS:

Pat Bacon - Guitar/Lead Vox. Bacon is the writer and singer of the band's original music. He is very athletic, good looking and modest. And smart.

Andy Smith - Lead Guitar/Mandolin/Vox. Andy is the jack-of-all-trades, playing anything he wants and usually running the sound board as well. Women are attracted to his keen sense of fashion and searing guitar solos. Has been known to sleep spooned up to his new Savage amp and his Gibson.

Steve Donahoe - Drummer. Donahoe once warmed up for Head East. Donahoe studied the drumming techniques of the hundreds of Iowan stick men to come before him. From hair band music to rap, Donahoe has seen it all and has yet to make a mistake. Ever.

Butch Zierath - Bass. Butch is a pro bass player who has played millions of gigs. His dream of getting his AARP card before cutting his mullet were shattered in 2006 by an overzealous barber. Zierath is brilliant playing any one of his eleven bass guitars. His favorite song to play is Mustang Sally...

Matt Kalin - Producer/Keyboards - Kalin is the youngest member of the band, which means he is under 40. Classically trained on the piano, Kalin discovered that he could make a lot less money and have more fun playing rock and roll.
Influences: Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen, Tom Petty, Steve Earle, Steve Poltz, Eivets Rednow, Townes Van Zant, Ronnie Van Zant, Chuck Berry, Buddy Holly, Jerry Jeff Walker, Pink Floyd, Don Henley, Woody Guthrie, Leonard Cohen, John Prine, Van Morrison, Jim Croce, Todd Snider, David Gray, The Who, Stevie Wonder, Sterling Sax, Warren Zevon, Slim Shady, Lloyd Christmas, Ryan Adams, John Mellencamp, The Waterboys, John Waite, Michael Stipe, Chris Smither, Harry Chapin, Steven King, Foghat, Richard Thompson, James McMurtry, Vince Lombardi, Kristofferson, Pete Rose & the Big Red Machine(actually George Foster was my favorite), Townes Van Zant, Cheap Trick... still love that Rick Neilson, Rufus Wainwright and his old man, SpongeBob, Benjamin Braddock, Ponyboy Curtis, Kevin Yagelski, Hugh Hefner, Roger Waters, Einstein, Chrissie Hynde, Sam Harris, Shawn Mullins, Dar Williams,Chris Farley, Chaz Michael Michaels, Stevie Nicks, and the late-great-and never straight Keith Moon ... he died before he got old. Also, all of the writers of sucky music from the past 20 years ... you inspired me to write, knowing that I could do better.
