Introduction:
Every year, 4.3 million people get infected with HIV! World Wide 2.5 million children under 15 years live with HIV. Alone 2007, 420,000 children under 15 years gets infected with the virus. Every minute a child dies from HIV! Every year 3 million people died from HIV/AIDS, 40 million are HIV-infected. And the number of new infections is rising even with us for several years. The WorldAidsDayCampaign wants to make people understand that HIV and AIDS is an important topic EVERYDAY!!! Only Together, we could fight against HIV and AIDS!!! So help!!
Facts about HIV/AIDS:
How can I get infected?
The HIV virus is with the body fluids of blood, sperm, Mother's milk and female vaginal secretions. Potential entrance gates are fresh, still bleeding wounds in the mucous membrane. The most common one is in sexual intercourse, without the use of condoms!

The disease course:
Two to six weeks after an infection can be flu-like symptoms such as fever, night sweats, swollen lymph nodes, nausea, etc. occur.
The most symptoms of acute HIV infection are (listed according to the probability of occurrence)
An HIV infection involves four phases:
Acute phase (four to six weeks)
- 80% fever
- 78% tiredness, fatigue
- 68% malaise, feeling sick
- 54% headache
- 54% loss of appetite
- 54% arthralgia (joint pain)
- 51% rash
- 51% night sweats
- 49% myalgia (muscle pain)
- 49% Nausea

- 37% oral ulcers (ulcers in the mouth)
- 34% Stiff neck (probably because of them there are and swollen lymph nodes)

After the "Acute phase":
During this time the virus multiplies in the body. There are probably no physical observations occur!

Why is the "Red Ribbon" the symbol for AIDS?
The Red Ribbon (German: Rote Schleife!) is the global symbol for solidarity with HIV-infected and AIDS patients. The color red has several meanings. It is one for the love and blood, on the other site, is red as a warning signal against the dangers of AIDS and the social problems.

The Red Ribbon was written in the 1980s by the New Yorker Frank Moore, in response to the first people who died with AIDS!
