I wanted to be a femme fatale, but I'm OK with Woman of the Year

About Me

I'm originally from Boston. I'm the proud daughter of a Boston Firefighter and a librarian. I have one younger brother who was recently married and is also a Boston Firefighter. I live in LA - half because I'm an actor and half because I love the sun. Can't get enough of it. I am now MARRIED!!! (as of June 2) to a boy named Matt who is incredibly adorable, loving, charming, political, funny, and smart. He also has a warped sense of humor and is a good citizen.Things I love about LA: the sun (of course); good Mexican food; proximity to much of the Gunn clan; the opportunity to be entertained at any moment of any day by film, theatre, television, music, or strange people on the street; proximity to the ocean; free screenings; and sometimes sushi.Things I miss about Boston: My family, the accent, Sue, Cate, friends who have known me forever; being able to get across the city on the T in 25 minutes or less; Fenway; Castle Island; and Southie. But I absolutely do NOT miss the snow. Or the cold. Or the grey. Or the winter that lasts till May. Ok April.

My Interests

Hiking, reading, sitting on the beach, drinking wine, eating chocolate or gelato from MELT, dancing, seeing lots of films and theatre, watching Tivo with Matt. I would also like to pick up pottery again someday. I wish I culd play the violin without having to learn how. And I really, really want to travel more.

I'd like to meet:

Naomi Watts (to tell her she's inspired me to tough it out); Lee Harvey Oswald (to ask the obvious question); George Bush (to tell him off); David Lynch (to ask him to give me a job)

Music:

My taste is eclectic and I like it when people introduce music to me, so I guess I'm kind of lazy about seeking new music out. All-time faves include Tori Amos, The Killers, big hair ballads, Catatonia, Portishead, U2, Bjork.

Movies:

Mulholland Drive, Evil, Taxi Driver, Blue Velvet, Best of Youth, 28 Days Later, Y Tu Mama Tambien, Blue Sky, Me Without You, Terms of Endearment, Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf, Truly Madly Deeply, Lollilove! And more I'll think of later.

Television:

The Office, Real Time with Bill Maher, Mad Men (one of my new faves), Grey's Anatomy, American Idol, 24, Gilmore Girls, How I Met your Mother, the Today show

Books:

The Corrections, I Claudius, Mama Day, What She Saw, The Kid, The Basic 8, Violet Clay, The Lovely Bones, Good in Bed.

Heroes:

My Dad.
