About Me

Betty is hailing from the top of Brixton Hill and is currently in the process of sculpting her debut album whilst building up her ever-increasing reputation on the live circuit.
So, it all began playing on Clapham Common where people were happy to listen to her tinkling away, then she stumbled across an opportunity to perform in the shop window of HMV, unbeknown to her, she was entering into a competition to Play at Reading Festival for the Nokia sponsored up-and-coming artists tent… And she won! ….Opening with a rendition of Bill Withers ‘Ain’t No Sunshine’ she gained an amazing reaction from the crowd considering she was the only non indie rock band on stage.
Many venues were soon on her tail such as The Embassy Rooms, Islington and Monkeychews, Camden in conjunction with earmusic.com and Babalou Bar, Brixton. Lark In The Park, Angel. Betsey Trotswood and The Bedford. She was also asked to perform at 2007’s Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
Instantly unique, her acoustic led sound is made up of sweet melodies, dark undertones and an accessible individuality that steeles has positively created as her own.
