City Trikx was formed in 1989 by Jeff and Shawn, who had played together in a previous band. Their search for a guitarist turned up Mark, who had jammed with Jeff briefly the year before. After a short search, they found a bass player, who ended up not working out and they quickly found a replacement in Tim. Shawn and Tim had been in a band briefly before in the past as well. Now that they were all together, they began practicing heavily, eager to join the Chicago rock scene. From the basement to small stages to theaters, they worked their way up to play with the top drawing acts in Chicago. Receiving invitations to play large shows by other bands and promoters alike, they gained exposure and somewhat of a reputation as a hard partying, good-time band. Having been part of a compilation cd released by a local rock magazine, they received heavy airplay with their single "Stop Teasin" on local radio. Eventually becoming the number 1 most requested local act for several months straight and even earning them a review in a Los Angeles based rock magazine. During all of this, which spanned about 2 years, there were many highs and lows. Eventually, like many a band before and many a band since, City Trikx split up.
