As far as what's going on with me musically, I am currently playing solo acoustic shows which consist of me, my guitar, and my voice. I've been having some special guests up lately, including my brother Michael Lombardozzi on bass, In Fervor's Richard Martin on drums, Mike Rodainsky on bass, Jon Carrai on various horns, and most recently Chuck Howell and Christian Rugilio providing some nice harmonies.
Right now I am rehearsing for my first ever solo album... with recording to commence in June '08. I am looking forward to this new project. So far the stuff sounds pretty friggin good! I'll keep ya posted on that...
Here's something cool: my first interview! From October '07. Conducted by the folks at BROOKLYN ORIGINAL, a blog and site aimed at spreading the word and building a community of Brooklyn-bred creative people (of which I am a slacking columnists for. See the Blorg above!) Check it out!:
TL INTERVIEW @ BROOKLYN ORIGINAL
Influences:
I am influenced by other musicians and artists. I am constantly inspired by people who actually DO things. Creative things.
Musically, my influences are vast. But here are the basics:
The Beatles. Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers. Queen. Wilco. The Police. AC/DC. Radiohead. The Band. Foo Fighters. Faces. Nirvana. David Bowie. James Brown. Old Motown and Stax records.
Artistically;
Frank Miller, Erik Larsen, Stan Sakai, Jeph Loeb, Tim Sale, Alan Moore, Van Gogh, Pablo Picasso, Modigliani.
Others;
Martin Scorsese, Akira Kurosawa, Tim Burton, Charles Bukowski, Jim Henson, Edward Gorey...
... and so many more.
Sounds Like:
... music.
Looks like art.
(But then again that's a matter of opinion.)
Hey, I'm not trying to reinvent the wheel here; I just wanna write some good songs.
