Unit 24 began as a recording studio in 1999 When producer/drummer Douglas Robson formed a friendship with singer/songwriter Kirt Hill.
and they began working on her solo project Blenim Dove.
Dug was also drummer in metal three-piece Slothbear, It was also around this time that Kirt and Dug joined garage punk band 'The Pittstops' who split 4 years later after much touring, recording when frontman Ant McMahon followed his heart to Stockholm, Sweden where he would form Bare Necessities. Sadly Slothbear also went their seperate ways.
In 2004 Kirt began working on an ambient/trip hop project with ex Rock City sound engineer Darren. Dug soon joined the project and they formed Tribal Infinty.
Unit24 records was born as a result.
Now a well established producer, Douglas Robson was approached by singer/songwriter Dan Heathcote to produce an album for his band Zadkiel who were soon added to Unit24 Records roster.
Unit24`s motivation is simply to put out good music, and if commercial success happens on the way then that is just a bonus.
