The Riot has been rocking the UK for over 4 years now, our motive is simple - we have seen it done so very badly in the past.
We have seen bands ill-treated, unpaid, unfed, un-watered, and horribly un-relaxed and hey guess what? When this happens they don't play earth-shattering gigs and pick up the plaudits they would otherwise deserve. Now a system of treating bands and performers like human beings seems very, very simple yet so many organisations only see the product, the paycheque or what they perceive to be the Next-Big-Thing regardless of talent.
So what do we do that is different? We book bands that we genuinely believe in. There is no point otherwise, because we would not feel motivated to do the work for them if we weren't fans ourselves. Go check out the list of bands that we have worked with. We are passionate about every single one of them. They have been deliberately chosen because of their talent, ability, dedication and attitude. We book these bands into venues that they will feel comfortable playing and with other bands who fit the bill and that they will get on with. We then get off our backsides and hit the streets with our street team flyering, postering and talking to people. When we get home exhausted and footsore, we get straight on our computers and punt the shows around the web. On the night of the show everyone gets a sound check. Everyone is well treated. Then they get to rock out and actually ENJOY the night.
How hard can that be? Well, yes it is very hard work and takes up every spare minute, but the formula of hard work and dedication leading to success is an old one, but one that is so often forgotten.
We are always looking for new bands and new directions. We have worked with established signed acts as well as a wealth of unsigned talent looking for a break. All that we ask is that you are as dedicated as we are about music if you want to come play a show with us then email [email protected]
Its not just the bands either. If the bands are on form then the crowds of fans are going to be ecstatic. If the bands and their reaction is good, the bands get great reviews and look cool in photographs.
