Formed in April 2006, Girlfixer play traditional punk with hardcore, rock and metal influences. They play with a no-nonsense in-yer-face passion. A larger than life female vocal screams over raw and catchy guitar driven punk influenced by bands such as The Distillers, Gallows and the Bronx. Having formed in April 2006, it has taken Girlfixer less than two years to go from four mates jamming covers in a garage, to being one of the East Midlands most up and coming punk bands. A fact confirmed when they won the Junction7 Band of the Bands Competition 2007. A fearsome gigging schedule has led to two forays into Germany, a gig at the Concrete Jungle festival, and support slots for bands such as UK Subs, English Dogs, Sick On The Bus and The Varukers. Gigs to come in 2008 include support slots with Vice Squad, Demob and Discharge and a UK tour with Aussie punk/hardcore band Anger In Motion. Confident about their uncompromising, raw and furious sound Girlfixer, are committed to promoting their music. Already receiving a 5 star review (Insomnia, October 2007) for their first EP and interviews with BBC Nottingham. The plan for 2008 is to play a truckload more gigs, record more songs, play more gigs, record more songs, record a music video, finish an album, tour an album.

GIRLFIXER - Three Track Demo
The first thing that I really like about this band is their attitude, the second thing is their dedication and the third thing is their eagerness to do it their own way and not follow current Punk trends. The three tracks on offer are a slice of original Punk tradition which is a mark of a great band showing great respect for their influences and beliefs. Girlfixer are a mix of early eighties Punk female fronted bands such as Vice Squad, Action Pact and the Ejected all brought into the twenty first century but keeping the original rawness that made them so appealing in the first place. This is no-nonsense – in-your-face – passionately delivered Punk at its very best. Girlfixer have that something about them that make them stand out from the crowd. They really believe in what they do and put everything into it – there is nothing fake about this band and this demo should demand a lot of attention. Traditionally played Punk with a modern twist and played with attitude and passion – keep your eye out for this band.
