THE BAND OF THE EYE

Hold still while we emote on you.

About Me

Formed in 2007, Bristol-based trio The Band of the Eye is gigging around the UK and has been played on many radio stations and podcasts in the UK, Ireland, Canada, New Zealand, Australia and the US.
The band played its first gig in April 2007 and has become a regular in south-west venues like The Fleece, The Croft, The Louisiana and Moles Club as well as playing further afield.
The January/February 2008 issue of Alternative magazine included The Band of the Eye's 'Beatnik Acoustics' on the cover-mount CD. In January and February the band spent time in London recording new music at Press Play Studios with producer Paul Tipler. Three songs were recorded, ‘Lippy Children’, ‘Dress-Down Day’ and ‘Sad Old World’. The new music was mastered at Toybox Studios in Bristol.
The Band of the Eye's debut single was released on 16 May by Shifty Disco and is available here.'Strangely addictive stuff from Bristol based grizzled power poster trio The Band of the Eye... [A] combo refusing to buckle to the "do you wanna be in our gang" mentality preferring instead to go off on their musical expedition.'

- Losing Today
'Incorporating some funky guitar with bursts of heavy riffs is what Bristol three-piece, The Band of the Eye, sound like. Think Nirvana with their groove on... Eclectic and likeable, their songs are all somewhat different... A charming band with an immense amount of potential and some great songs. These guys have big plans.'

- Reverb Magazine
'You should know this band; we think they're great.'

- BBC Radio, Bristol Uncovered
'Good, righteous rock'

- Fierce Panda Records
'Take addictive riffs, infectious melodies and blend them with a sonic garage-rock sound and the influences of Nirvana, Sonic Youth, Queens of the Stone Age (among others), and you have the alternative rock outfit that call themselves “The Band Of The Eye”...The cut “Dress Down Boy” is especially infectious, with funky and slashing guitar work, secure bass lines and exploding vocals, the song forces you to bob your head in approval. The band takes it to another level with the supreme slide guitar magic and Talking Heads meets Camper Van Beethoven-delivery of the cut called “Beatnik Acoustics.”“Why Are You So Awful” has the classic sound of Van Morrison’s “Wild Night,” but with an alternative twist and disciplined re-invention that has you craving for more. One thing is certain; this rock trio is going places, likely straight to the top of the charts.'
