Maybe Tomorrow was a studio project to capture tunes that had been bouncing around Gav & Al's heads for years. Things first showed signs of life back in 2003 when Gav & Al worked alongside each other in the Air Force. They got more enjoyment out of creating a warm blend of piano and guitar than playing war games and pretty soon their home grown acoustic tales and ballads started to develop into something which had to be captured and heard. The military days are now firmly in the past and both Gav & Al moved on to pastures new. Listen to the results and feel free to drop us a line with some feedback.
Gav (guitar & vocals) has been writing songs as long as he can remember. A regular on the live circuit in previous outfits and as a solo performer, he thrives on the live buzz but also loves to write and record. Gav lives in Forfar and regularly plays solo acoustic sets around the local area as well as hosting Forfar's only open mic at the Plough, 1st Weds of every month.
Al (piano, strings, drums) is a master of the keys and the drums. He has played extensively over the years and always been immersed in music in one form or another. His blend of meaningful piano ballads and ear for a classic tune compliments the guitar and forms the very foundation of what became 'Maybe Tomorrow'. Al previously lived in Cupar, Fife but has since taken his talents down under, to Brisbane, Australia. Look out for him over there.
The album, 'Free But Home', contains 8 tracks of original songs and tunes (4 written by Gav & 4 written by Al) which will hopefully take you on an emotional journey. It contains classic piano ballads, earthy guitar tunes and a blend of both creating a warm listening experience. Big thanks to Douglas Clark for his haunting cello on Wishing & In This World. It was recorded at Redbarn studios, Dundee...thanks Stu. The project was a whole lotta fun.
If you like what you hear, drop us a line. The album is available now.
