Drop In The Ocean

SUNDAY JUNE 11th 2006 - ALL OVER NOTTINGHAM

About Me

The multi-venue citywide event that was such a success in '05 will once again showcase the cream of Nottinghams musicians and artists in an all-day extravaganza. Remember we only had four weeks to organise last years Tsunami fundraiser? This time around, we've got plenty of time to bring you the greatest celebration possible of the Nottingham live music scene. Once again, everyone plays for free, and ALL profits will go to charity. This time around, we've teamed up with the Lord Mayors Pakistan Earthquake Appeal and agreed to give 50% of the proceeds to this vital cause. The other 50% will be used to build a shelter for 60 orphaned Cambodian kids who have been rescued from the sex tourism trade. At present, they're living under a tin roof with the most rudimentary of facilities - we intend to change that... This year, we've got plenty of tricks up our sleeves. We cant let you know everything that weve got planned but you can be sure its going to be bigger, better, noisier, and even more of a top-drawer doss than ever before. So have a flick around the new site - www.dropintheocean.org - and see what weve been up to since we last did this in January 2005... Click the pic for the official website, and for the bands who are playing, don't be shy about sticking us on your top 8 to help get us (and you) as much coverage as possible. Thanks.
