Legendary Leeds (UK) band formed in 1976Built up a massive following and played hundreds of gigs in Leeds and the north between 1976 and 1981.Released ultra-rare vinyl 7" in 1980 (Double A-Side Favourite Girl / Say You Will. This vinyl now fetching up to £100 across the internet...Many recordings in existence (Live - including live at The Royal Park in 1977 - and rehearsal - see songs on myspace and studio - Street Credibility which recently sold bucketloads in Japan !!).KNIFE EDGE played many headlining gigs and supported all of the "name" bands of the time. All performances were special......Reunion in early 90's kept the fires burning but that was nothing to the massive reunion in 2002 at The New Roscoe (Leeds) when the place was packed to the rafters and the band played for 3+ hours - just like the legendary last gig at The Haddon Hall (Leeds) on 1st August 1981 (1.8.81).This followed the inclusion of "Fighting In The Chapel" and "Say You Will" on the superb "Bored Teenagers Volume 2" punk compilation (Detour Records). 4 of the bands : KNIFE EDGE / UXB / THE ZIPPS / THE NEGATIVES played a superb gig ate The Garage in London during that same year sponsored by Detour.Check out the internet for references to KNIFE EDGE - bootlegged on quite a number of (international) punk combinations and still out there after so many years.Mark Sweeney went on to form RED LORRY YELLOW LORRY with Chris Reid but left after about 1 year but not before playing at the (now demolished) Queens Hall in Leeds with The Jam in 1981.KNIFE EDGE are due for a reunion in 2007 - venue & date tba so watch this space.............................................
