About Me

Southend animal aid are a local volunteer group that have been campaigning for the past 25years. We peacefully campaign against all forms of animal cruelty. We have meetings once a month (every third Saturday)where we discuss upcoming events and campaigns.
We have organised many events in the past such as, making the public aware of the cruelty involved in horse racing, a sponsored dog walk raising money for Network for Animals, KFC protests, visual demo's against the (not so) Great British Circus, we have also helped to raise money for Uncaged over the years and we generally hold lots of info stalls.

The circus is no place for an animal. The life for an animal in a circus consists of frequent travel, restricted movements, poor living conditions and loud noises. Training is very secretive; animals undergo training behind closed doors. There have been cases where brutal training methods have come to light. For more info have a look here

We would like to meet anyone that is interested in animal rights/welfare. Anyone wanting more information on any animal welfare subjects, and anyone that wants to help us out at stalls and/or on demos.

For Animal Aid..'s Veggie Month, Southend Animal Aid are holding a Veggie Food fayre with lots of delicious vegan food to sample, including samples from Vegan food companies such as Frys and Plamil, to help create awareness on why going Veggie is better for your health, animals and the planet.
