Martin Furmann was born in may 1977 in Gelsenkirchen/Germany. He started to play the piano at the age of seven, when he was 15, he began to play the electric bass.
After winning the first price in the Jazz-Competition „Jugend Jazzt 1994“, he decided to be a professional musician. From 1997 to 2000 he studied Jazz music at the Conservatory Arnhem/NL. He finished his exams at the well known „Folkwang Hochschule“ Essen/Germany from 2000 to 2003.
For over ten years now, Martin is a part of the professional music scene in Germany. He is known for his various talents for any style of music, no matter if it is pop, jazz, funk, soul, reggae, latin, world, electronica or even classical music.
He played with musicians like: David Friedman, Walfredo Reyes jr., Bobby Shew, Felicia Weathers, Werner Neumann, Thomas Alkier, Ulli Beckerhoff, Rosani Reis, Xaver Fischer, Gilda Razani etc. to name e few.
He recorded with acts like Phil Fuldner, Moguai, Artful Dodger, Melanie Blatt, USA Gospel Singers and many more.
