From a 14 years old kid , playing some rock-jazz-funky stuff on the electric bass, to a graduated classical bass player in 1989, was a long way! But one of the most important occurrences in MARTIN`s musical career happened in 1988 when he met CARLOS D`L PUERTO! Both were playing on a festival in Germany, CARLOS with IRAKERE and MARTIN with MACONDITO (founded and still leaded by MARTIN)!
Since 1989 he went nearly 10 times to CUBA, studying and living with CARLOS D`L PUERTO, SILVIO VERGARA (RUMBAVANA), CACHAITO (BUENA VISTA) and FELIPE CABRERA (GONZALO RUBALCABA) and met a lot of exellent cuban musicians, like BOBBY CARCASSES or OSCAR VALDEZ.
Til today MARTIN lives his passion to cuban music while working with national and international salsa/latin bands like MACONDITO, SEIS DEL SON (also founded by MARTIN in 2000!), TROPIC VILLE, HECTOR TRICOCHE or LESLIE PAULA SALSA EXPERIENCE not only as a bass player but also as a bandleader, composer and arranger!
As a freelancer a well known bassist and respected teacher, MARTIN is playing jazz trios, big band, theatres and musicals all over Europe.
