I have been labeled the "Jazz Evangelist" because of my passion and promotion for America's only original art form -- Jazz -- which includes a great deal of diversity, as well as division. Instead of arguing about what jazz isn't, I prefer to revel in all that jazz is, was and can be. . .from rag to swing, from be-bop to trip-hop, from blues to bossa, from Dixieland to drum n' bass, from hot to cool, from straight ahead to urban contemporary, from traditional to experimental, from acoustic to electronic, from jazz infused hip-hop to world grooves, from silky, smokey, soulful and scat vocalists to spoken word, from fusion to funk, from jazz rock to rare grooves, from down tempo to deep house, from acid jazz to ambient, from Afro-Cuban to Latin, from nu jazz to neo-soul. . .and beyond.
