Evelyn Champagne King in one of her very first TV appearances circa 1978. The Soap Factory - Palisades, NJ. She is accompanied by her first touring band TRUSSEL (Love Injection - 1979), Trussel gained a great deal of attention by touring with Evelyn King and performing on shows with Luther, Chic, Parliament, Bootsy, LTD and many many more. The group signed with Elektra-Asylum and was nominated for best new R&B group in Billboard magazine. Fred Wesley produced the only album Love Injection - 1979-80.. The group had three charted singles (Love Injection, Big City Rocker, I Love It) with Love Injection reaching the Top 20. Bill McGee was spokesperson and co-founder of Trussel. The group formed in 1973 at Virginia State College in Petersburg, Virginia. Oh, that's Bill McGee in the Derby and White Parachute Pants playing Flugelhorn... next to his friend and fellow trumpeter Marvin "Chops" Daniels. Bill was twenty-six years old when this video was shot....
