MySpace LayoutsMitch Malone, nightly Host of the "Quiet Storm" on
99.3 & 105.7 KISS-FM in Richmond/Petersburg, VA. Mitch,
a Petersburg native, attended Petersburg HS, Virginia
State University, and the Broadcast Academy Of Richmond.
Instrumental in launching the Richmond area's first FM
radio station targeting the African-American community
in 1980, he captured the ears of Central VA listeners onMAGIC 99FM.
He later did on-air stints in Norfolk (WOWI-FM 103),
Greensboro (WQMG-FM 97.1), and was Music/Sports Director
for a number of years at his alma mater's station, WVST-
FM 91.3 at Va. State, winning the CIAA's Sportscaster Of
The Year Award three times as "Voice Of The Trojans".
Mitch has also served as game announcer for VSU foot-
ball & basketball, and in the same capacity for
Petersburg & Matoaca High Schools. He's received numerous awards from
organizations like the NAACP, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority,
Inc., The Petersburg & Richmond Public Schools, Jack & Jill
Of America, and within his own company at Radio One, Inc.
Mitch "cools" the Capital City down in the evening with
strong love songs, classic slow jams, and a touch of
jazz. His "Quiet Storm" is currently the highest-rated and
most listened to program in Central VA.......by far! For

Mitch is also employed by Westwood One, Inc., where he
is a News & Traffic Anchor for Metro Networks of Richmond.
He provides news and traffic reports for several radio and
TV stations between Richmond and Northern Virginia.
Mitch credits his career acheivements to those who inspired
him in radio, long-time friends like WRVQ's Kirby
Carmichael, whom Mitch considers to be Richmond's all-time
greatest on-air personality. Roger Williams, an ABC-TV
technician and former radio personality on Richmond's WENZ-
AM 1410, a neighbor and close friend who first sparked his
interest in radio. Others who were big influences include
former WANT-AM 990 Mid-day personality "Chocolate Chip" and
Rev. Frank Aikens, who helped me understand the business at
