Restlesslist have been a busy band May 2008 saw the release of the fabulous BUTLIN BREAKS, a single that is perfect for - and typical of- a British Summer! Never boring, Restlesslist have produced something that's short, jaunty and brimming with summer campness. Ennio-esque horns, surf twang, and cinematic aspirations are all recognisable as trademark Restlesslist. The single has been attracting some major radio attention with mulitple plays by Radio Ones Huw Stephens, Colin Murray, Radio Two's Steve Lamacq and BBC Radio 6's Nemone (single of the week) and Mark Riley (whom they also played a live session for, check blog for listen again details for all) who is also using the tune for his new radio 6 show. This is all great warm up for the major feature of the year... Thats right its the release of the bands debut album "Rise And Fall Of The Curtain Club" dropping into all good record shops and available online from June 8th 2008. The album is already kicking up a storm and has been voted album of the week already by Radio Ones Huw Stephens.Check the bands label website www.lifeiseasyrecords.com for more details."Instrumental gems incorporating circus waltzes, Morricone horns, debauched beats and surferama electronica. You must have RESTLESSLIST IN YOUR LIFE!!!!"
Restlesslist’s development has seen them expanding from roots in bedroom Lo-Fi as a two piece featuring Matt Thwaites (Electric Soft Parade) and Ben Elliot, creating collages from keyboards, guitars, found samples and broken beats, into a full band adding Tom White (Electric Soft Parade and Brakes) and the band Zettasaur.Restlesslist will appeal to fans of The Brakes and The Electric Soft Parade, but with influences from a host of obscure and mainstream artists including The Books, Anticon Records, The Unicorns, Joe Meek, The Chap and Gorillaz their appeal reaches out to very different audiences as well.
