Right...so this is it! The End! It's been a wonderful journey over the last 18 months. We've met some wonderful people and we've hosted some wonderful bands. I for one have got absolutely wasted more than once. The night's had its ups and its downs...it's had 'Keith' from The Office, and it's had Malcolm Kaksois. It's had 'Windmill playing Windie Miller's at The Windmill', and it's had my mum make a 500 mile round trip to play her first ever DJ gig!!! Everyone in their own right has made an impact in some way...whether it's been by fucking us over (MC), or by pulling down lighting rigs mid-set (D!D!D!) - I'd just like to say thanks to everyone for making Windie Miller's Music Club happen...
Now...let's join Windie Miller in playing host to Brixton and the world, one last time!!!
Thank you and Good Night!!!
MY FIRST TOOTH (Northampton) - www.myspace.com/myfirsttooth
I love My First Tooth and I think you will too...They've just agreed to play, so yeah, as ever it's all a bit last minute, but it's a beautiful little line-up...x
"A boy play guitar and sings. A girl plays violin/melodica/bouzouki and sings and the whole thing is very, very lovely" - SoundsXP
PLANET EARTH (London) - www.myspace.com/planetearthsongs
Sam Lewis and his band have recently supported Peter and the Wolf and are about to embark on a support tour with Noah and the Whale...so it'll be Fun Fun Fun...I'm really excited about this!
Planet Earth are writing some wonderful little songs and are begining to make a new for theselves on London's new-folk scene...bollocks to scenes. This band are wonderful in their own right!
JACQUES LABOUCHERE (Sweden) - www.myspace.com/labouchere
He has a French name...comes from America, and is based in Gothenburg (SWEDEN & not Norway as I keep insisting)...Mr Labouchere and his band are on a mini-tour of London so come and make them feel welcome! :) xJacques, according to Reverb Nation creates melodically crafted pop-songs that are modest, but ambitious at the same time...he can rock out too (Ref. In The Area Unspoken Of)...he cites his influences as George Harrison and Evan Dando, and it's one of the band's birthdays so I reckon they know how to party too!
SPARKY DEATHCAP (Manchester) - www.myspace.com/sparkydeathcap
SPARKY DEATHCAP is a musician and cartoonist from Manchester, now living in London. He has toured with Daniel Johnston and Los Campesinos! and in recent times supported Panda Bear, Shearwater and Julie Doiron.
"Sparky Deathcap wears a hoodie with felt animal ears sewn onto the hood, and twists proggy guitar loops against the sound of himself whistling a lovely dawn chorus." -Emily Bick, PLAN B MAGAZINE
