About Me

You have been marked on my profile map!
Sawadee krop!
I'm am Noiseman433, hear me...um...make noise! But seriously, I do make noise ; and I do make experimental techno soundscapes ; and on occasion I also make music as a member of il Troubadore (Indianapolis' 16th Century Rock Band) and Natyasastra (Bollywood and Indian cello/dance duo).
I'm Thai, see--and no that doesn't mean I'm from Taiwan--not that there's anything wrong with Taiwan. I was born in Udon Thani (Northeast Thailand) and got moved to the states when I was real young. So I'm not officially a US citizen, just a permanent resident with "green card" (Visa) and Thai passport from the Kingdom of Thailand. I like that I can say I'm a citizen of the Kingdom of Thailand--that's just too cool, eh?
Because of my citizenship, and where I live, I often think of myself as a cultural ambassador. Often, though, I'm more of an "Arts Ambassador" (and sometimes people just call me a "Cultural Terrorist")--I've spent the past decade (or so) doing various forms of experimental arts. Everything from harshnoise to performance art to experimental theatre. Quite often, I bring in influences from cultures not frequently found in this part of the United States (Indianapolis, is in the "Midwest"--the middle of the United States). So, for example, in my band, il Troubadore , we perform everything from Italian Bel Canto, Bhangra, Irish, Country music, Middle Eastern pop to Disco. We also write our own music for belly dancers, and have begun working on Chinese Opera and traditional/pop Thai songs.
I hope to start an International Cultural Arts Center in Indianapolis which can be a base of operations for my various projects, as well as a place to showcase the arts of other cultures.
I think I've blabbed on enough for now.
Lakhon Krop,
Jon

Updates...sorta

Yeah, it's been a while.  I was playing "incognito" for a while (sorta).  What have I been up to: 1) I've been rehearsing with the Arabic band, Ahel El Nagam, the past couple of weeks. ...

Meditation, the new panacea...?

So, I've started meditating again.  The last time I did this regularly was in '98 where I would sometimes sit for some mini-marathon of 2 hours.  I had been meditating intermittently for som...
