Hi! My name is Mary Christina Brown (ÐœÑри КриÑтина Браун). (People call me "MC" for short). I was born on a military base in Fort Bragg, North Carolina. I have lived in other cities, but spent most of my life being raised in San Francisco (Bay Area). Being raised in a diverse city like San Francisco has made me very open-minded, free-spirited, and cultured. I consider myself pretty down-to-earth, lots of fun to be around, and passionate. I found passion in the arts at an early age. I grew up in the performing arts in San Francisco being exposed to dance, music, martial arts, and theater. I also worked in the IT field in Silicon Valley as a Network Tech and Internet Systems Engineer. I troubleshot networks. As much as it was great pay and very steady, i needed to move on to working in the entertainment industry. I love being around creative people! Computers were fun, but didnt fullfill my artistic desires. LOL. I'm very grateful for what I have and what has been given to me. I have no regrets and I keep moving forward with a grin on my face. I love life! Struggles come and go, but it only makes me stronger and wiser. Her heritage is of Dutch, Danish, English, Native American Indian, Korean and Japanese. Born on a military base in Fort Bragg in North Carolina and having lived in small towns in the mid-west, Queens of New York, Hawaii, and San Francisco.
It was in San Francisco where she was compelled to embrace different cultures and the performing arts, including dance, music, theater, art, and martial arts.Mary Christina studied at the Philip Bennett Theater Lab, School of the Arts High School, A.C.T. Young Conservatory, and was a member of the Young People's Musical Theater Company, training in drama, singing, and dance. While classically trained, she in voice she also played the cello and violin. She booked her first commercial for Fox television at age seven, modeled for print advertising campaigns, studied Hapkido as a child and Capoeria and Tae Kwon Do in her teen years. She danced professionally varying from Hip Hop, Jazz, Modern and even traditional Hawaiian and Tahisian. She also competed in several talent competitions, beauty pageants and was 1st runners up at the Miss Hawaiian Tropic pageant.After a short stint in Silicon Valley, Mary Christina moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career in the entertainment industry.As an actress, she played Maricar Sanchez in the Urban Comedy "A Night in Compton", which won 2004 audience choice award at the Hollywood Black Film Festival and aired on the Black Stars Network. She also starred opposite Peter Greene in "King of Hollywood" also starring Joe Hursley, Frederico Castelluccio and Todd Bridges directed by Danny Lee. She was next a candy raver in "Rolling" about the Ecstasy culture in LA, which won audience choice and best feature award in the 2007 San Francisco Independent Film Festival, the 2007 Seattle True Independent, and Danceswithfilms in Los Angeles and several other festivals around the world. She played Lith in the Horror film "Night of the Dead: Leben Tod", which won Best Makeup Special FX at the 2006 Shriekfest and Jury Award at the 2006 Chicago horror film festival. Mary Christina also stars as Sybil in the Sci-Fi Horror film, "Doomed", which is airing now on Showtime Network. Other film credits include Bollywood film,"That Game of Chess", "Loaded", etc. She played a sniper in "Another Lonely Day" starring Will Yun Lee, Russell Wong, Michelle Lee, Ron Yuan and plays Jamie Lee in the Sci-Fi Action film "Repeat Offenders" starring Taimak, featured as Anastasia alongside British actor Julian Sands in "Blood and Bone" and plays a lead as "Japoniko" in "Night of the Templar" acting opposite David Carradine, Udo Kier, Norman Reedus, Billy Drago, and Paul Sampson. You can catch her sword fighting against legendary Cult actor David Carradine.As a singer and dancer, Mary Christina has performed with Shar Jackson in the all girl group, Mpulz. She has danced on shows such as the BET Club Comic View, Spike Television's Mountain Dew Network show, Dance 360, Your Face or Mine?, Boystown, featured dancer/choreographer on Univision's Caliente and Estudio 2. She has appeared in two of Carlos Santana's music videos featuring Musiq Soulchild and Alex and the Calling, featured dancer for UK's rising British artist Jem in "Wish I", Universal Music Group/Machete Records, TQ, Your Horrible Smile, and many others. She can also be seen dancing in feature films such as "A Talent for Trouble" and as Valentina, Desmonds back-up dancer in the first latin/hip hop reggaeton movie "Spin" starring Shalim Ortiz.She has also shown talent working behind the camera. She co-produced a project "Another Lonely Road" starring Will Yun Lee, Ron Yuan, Russell Wong, Michelle Lee and directed by Ben Ramsey. As a producer she has also worked with such talents Joe Hursley (Accepted) also known for his band "The Ringers", Nadia Bjorlin (Redline, Days of Our Lives), Tabitha Taylor (TV:the Movie), Celestina, Fashion model Lauren James, the Artist Hans Haveron, and several other talents. She worked in production as an associate producer on the feature film "Shut Up and Shoot!" directed by Silvio Pollio starring Joe Cortese, Tom Sizemore, Gary Busey, Daniel Baldwin, John Savage, James Russo, Willie Gault, and Debra Wilson. She worked with award winning director Jon Shear (Urbania) producing comedy videos featuring comedian/writer Sam Brown (The whitest kids you know) and Christa Flanagan (Mad TV). She produces and works behind the camera on several photo shoots with models, celebrities, and editorials for magazines. She worked for Melissa Prophet Management and is currently working for a commercial production company in Los Angeles.****************************************************
