About Me

Banzai Studio it's a company with two sets in Barcelona owned and ruled by my daughter and her boyfriend. There you can find all the facilities for the shooting of films, motion pictures, TV series, TV programs, Musical video clips, photos, set constructions, catering, etc. They are placed by the sea in a very quiet and comfortable area te ominutes walking from a beautiful beach and 10 minutes walking to the city of Badalona. More information here:::::::::::::::::::::::::::http://www.jorgeartajo.com/ba nzaiworks/test/index.php?lang=enThis is my work included at the VISIBLE COLLECTION now at exhibition in Sao Paulo ( Brazil) and that will touring all South America through 2008 and 2009.The work it’s called “Dios bendiga esta casa” (May God Bless this Home) and is made by two cork boxes in which I have put two decorated broomsticks with grains, seeds and religious icons, that some Slavic people hang in their homes as a kind of amulets to bring protection , prosperity, love an happines to the family. The original composition of couples on the broomsticks were heterosexual, of course, but I have change them by a gay and a lesbian couple and I have added some other elements like condoms, dildos, creams for pleasure and chinesse balls, in order to break the usual asexual image of ordinary homes and families. Although I am an atheist I wanted to use this headword “God Bless this Home” because it is connected with my childhood in which most of the houses in my village have paintings, drawings, embroideries, or glazed tiles hanging in the entrance walls. I always found it lovely, because they were colourful and friendly, far from the sad, dark and sado- masochistic images inside the church. I made the boxes of cork, because I want these homes to float and survive to any kind of storm.Web site of the Museum in Sao Paulo: www.macvirtual.usp.br::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: :::: Más información en castellano en my blog.My friend Sergio Catá has created this site: PSICOFURIAS a place to turn your neurosis in video. I woud love you could be there with me next June 11th at EL CÍRCULO DE BELLAS ARTES in Madrid. This is the translation of the flyer text: AN EVENING IN THE BED OF JORGE ARTAJO Performance in six parts that includes a reinterpretation of Yoko Ono’s work “CUT PIECE”This is a six pieces performance that talks about aggressions, abuses and injustices against homosexuals, lesbians, transsexuals or bisexuals, but at the same time wants to show their feelings, joys, sensations, pleasures, passions, dreams or desires, that they have maintained generation after generation although all the hard times and repression suffered, and that has become a common space of freedom where lots of heterosexuals have found a shelter for their own lives too.Program:1-Cleaning Piece (against the invisibility of gays and lesbians in the working class. A bad sign) 2-Shout Painting (an impossible cure for the existential void and other goods.) 3-Transit Piece (a returning and meeting at the common Matrix) 4-Cut Piece from Yoko Ono reinterpreted this time by Jorge Artajo. ( an attempt of coming to life and rescuing from Inquisition’s bonfires, from Nazi’s concentration camps, Franco’s prisons or Iran’s gallows to all those people killed, tortured, retaliated or executed, because of their sexuality.)5-A Theatre Act: I’m Looking For A Man (or Diogenes of Sinope teachings)6-Poem in the bag: 5 foolish virgins waiting for their assassins (Songs of Innocence, hope and rage)Os recomiendo este libro escrito por mi amiga Cristina Andreu sobre Isabel Coixet, que ha titulado "UNA MUJER BAJO LA INFLUENCIA". ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ +++++++++I want to introduce you to this Spanish group that sing in English. They are: Fran and Kike fron Sevilla, and Juan and Gonzalo from Jerez, both cities in the South of Spain. They decided not appear in the cover, although they are very handsome, and prefered to put the faces of some people they love. Lucky me I was among the chosen ones! I'm thrilled and grateful! My friend Gonzalo Cabrera took this photo of me while playing with these couple of lovely bare-naked-fatty-sugar coated-bottom flies at my exhibition in the 4D café in Madrid. For more details go to my blog. This is the video of the launch event of our book "Buenos días Sr. Hoy" (Good Morning Mr. Today) in which Ana Rossetti and I performed CUT PIECE and some other YOKO ONO Pieces. TODAY) By Ana Rossetti and Jorge Artajo Editorial Kókinos (Madrid) http://www.editorialkokinos.com/ ..This is a children's book i made with Ana Rossetti tittled: GOOD MORNING MISTER TODAY", WITH THIS BOOK we wanted to celebrate routine and simple daily living, with its joys and its annoyances . As a conclusion to the book we added at teh back cover a Yoko Ono instruction: COLLECTING PIECE, as a way of remind us that we should be thankful for being surrounded by the SOUND of PEACE, and try to appreciate it. We invite you to imagine every day the sound of PEACE. http://www.editorialkokinos.com/cuentos/buenosdias.html This video is the Making Of a short film by my friend Sergio Catá, called: ESTO NO ES UN WESTERN (THIS IS NOT A WESTERN). Sergio chose my paintings to decorate the set, and he has told me that part of the story is build around the smile of one of the characters in the paintings. He has taken some drawings from the book "Buenos días Sr. Hoy" for the credits. Sergio is a wonderful nice man: To know him is to love him.LAS BODAS REALES (THE REAL ROYAL WEDDINGS) Autores: Ana Rossetti y Jorge Artajo Ediciones Bellaterra (Barcelona) http://www.ed-bellaterra.com/ .....................................................“Las bodas reales” surgió como concepto en Noviembre de 2003 cuando se anunció el compromiso del Príncipe Felipe con Letizia Ortiz. A BOOK TO BE READ IN THE DARK This is a children's book I made with the Theatre Group COMEDIANTS. It has been made with an special ink, invisible when light. You only can see it in the dark. There were many diferent cover versions made in Spanish, Catalan and French languagers. This is the Spanish language edition with die-cut cover.

I'd like to meet:

All those who look at me with empathy, love, sexual interest, or affection; but now I would love to introduce you to some people that I love. You can see what they do by going to the links belowA mí me encanta conocer a cualquiera.
