About Me
DJ Skully was born in Northamptonshire, England. When Skully was ten years old, he was given his first taste of Hip-Hop in the form of N.W.A, 2 Live Crew and Public Enemy. Whilst scratching and the role of a Disc Jockey were unknown to him at the time, he knew exactly what he liked, and his hunger for this sound grew very quickly. With this craving came an increasing collection of music, vinyl and mix tapes. His passion for DJing was fuelled when he received his first pair of turntables from a school friend. After many hours of dedication and practice he finally acquired his first national DJ title, where he became the first ever DMC Battle for Supremacy UK Champion in 2000. A mere 2 years later, Skully became the UK DMC Technics champion, and grabbed the Diesel U-MUSIC Award for the best Scratch DJ and was involved in an award ceremony surrounded by musical legends.Just one week after the World finals, held at the Brixton Academy in London, he received an award for the Best UK hip hop DJ, as well as appearing on Radio 1, XFM, Nickelodeon, Channel 4 and the BBC. Skullys biggest opportunity finally came when he was approached by the world famous radio station Kiss 100 on a guest show basis. He built a radio show aimed at listeners who wanted cutting edge UK and US music, soon after this Kiss offered him a contract in one of their key time slots, which Skully held down for 3 years. The Hip-Hop DJs popularity kept on growing and saw him DJ alongside artists such as Pharoahe Monche, Jazzy Jeff, Clinton Sparks, Fatman Scoop, Cash Money, Ice-T, Biz Markie, Rahzel, Craze, Masta Ace, Gang Starr, Q-Bert, Skinnyman, Dj Noize, Klashnekoff, and many more. Having collaborated on there hugely succesful joint mix cd 'Focus Mode' along with a nationwide tour, Skully has become the official dj for Klashnekoff, and is getting set for the release of the forthcoming Terrafirma mix/album 'The Foundation' due for release in November 2006...Dj Skully - DMC UK Champion Set:.. width="425" height="350" ..
