...........................TRICKY MICKY BIOGRAPHY......................................I was born Michael Paini in Westminster on March 24th 1985. I’m half English, half Italian, a phenomenon of gingerness among my fellow greasy Italians. After 8 years of being rich, fighting my big bro and getting robbed in the ‘ends’ of Cricklewood, NW London, the family, minus my hopeless ‘papa’ moved to the suburb of Peacehaven, near Brighton. I didn’t like school. I preferred drugs. I’ve since realised the error of my ways and I’m now a strict alcoholic.I started chatting to drum & bass and garage when I was 16 and in 2003, under the name of MC Envy, I reached the last 10 of the BBC’s and Trevor Nelson’s ‘Urban Music Prize 2003’ with my track ‘White Van Man’.I began writing to hip hop and attended a music production course in London, where after learning absolutely nothing, I met hip hop producer Sly Fox. I changed my name to ‘Tricky Micky’. We launched a partnership which lasted until 2007, and although it produced many tracks, including a remix by Mike Skinner, nothing went to release.By now I was a qualified plumber and had been juggling my training with music for some time. I honed my skills in these years and 2007 brought the start of a new, promising partnership with former Big Brovaz producer Mr Skills and also the experience of several gigs. Everybody said I was ‘SICK’ but the doctor said there was nothing wrong with me.We are now ready with a new sound for the young generation. We mix big ‘street’ beats with sharp, witty raps and catchy hooks. Lad Britain. I am the truth. The overworked. The underpaid. The much anticipated buzz of the weekend. The booze. The drugs. The hustle. The girls. The fights. The side-splitting laughs. This is lad culture. This is… ‘LAD RAP’.Get your tickets for this event on Ticketweb for £20 weekend/£15 day. Im playing on the Sunday. This festival is in aid of starving children in Africa so it's more than just a quality piss up!..
