Myspace BackgroundsName: Damien Paul Alter Ego: DeFury Born: 26th September 1982 Newham General HospitalI was born and raised in East London; my parents first lived in Manor Park then moved to East Ham when I was 2 years old. I had a happy childhood until I reached the age of 6, that’s when my parents divorced and left me feeling confused and hurt by their actions. But as many people know that which doesn’t kill you only makes you stronger. For many years as a child I dealt with a lot of issues like being kept away from my dad and my older brother from whom I had no contact for about 4-5 years. I dealt with all my problems through drawing. Then at the age of ten I had to make up a rap for a school assembly, and since then music has been a very large part of my life. When I started secondary school I formed a band with some friends and performed at various colleges and other talent events. At age of 16 I went to live with my dad, but after many conflicts with his wife, I moved to Hackney to live with my brother after spending a year at my dad’s. Yet I would still try to pursue my music career, but had to sacrifice a lot of my time because of work as BILLS HAD TO BE PAID! Then at the age of twenty-one I found Opaz Studios and haven’t looked back. No doubt the cost of living doesn’t make things easy for me, but if you want something in life the path is never easy and so. Here I am for all to see and hear!! I aim to bring something different to the hip-hop world, I mean how long can people rap about bitches, hoes, rims, bling, whips and whatever other bulls**t that we can’t relate to. So I introduce to you one young, angry, political, conscious, vibrant black man, who goes by the name of DeFURY.
