Born in Jamaica Portland, cortex as always been on the move, for a period of his kidult hood, he was living in Portmore then moved back to Portland where he came Straight from out a yard in 2001. Growing up in JA, in was inevitable that reggae music was a big part of his life, as he cant recall the radio ever been off. Exposed to as little hip hop as possible, it was unpredictable that he would have such a big role in this genre of music. Before arriving in England, it was only the likes of DMX, Biggie, Tupac and Jay Z which he had heard of, so he knew he had to do his research when he gained the interest of hip hop music in 2003. From the start of his music career, it was easy to see that this guy had talent; spitting on play ground sets and getting pull ups, just 4 bars into the verse, always leaving the studio Mics sizzling, and hearing audience singing along to his music even when it was the first time the crowd had heard it. Joining force with the super producer, Zaidi, cortex has improved a lot and still has more to offer, which is a big positive as he is still young, now at the age of 17. Music runs through the veins of his body, so as long as he is living, he will always let it bleed.
