Ali Baba is an artist totally confident in his abilities. Other artists of his genre, become woefully one-dimensional in comparison. Ali Baba perfected his style by free styling to the rhythms and styles of Jamaican Reggae, mainly Roots, Dancehall and Ragga.
Today Ali Baba readily accepts that his heart is more open to reggae but he easily eases his style into other genres from Hip Hop to RnB, Gospel to Soca and sounds as diverse as Rock, Pop and Dance.
Born in Clarendon, Jamaica, but raised in Spanish Town, Ali Baba was from a very tender age exposed to extreme poverty and lawlessness in the small pockets of his community. Seeing and knowing this builds part of the foundation to which Ali Baba draws his inspiration. This along with a deep held belief and lifestyle based strongly on his love of Rastafari, Africa the Motherland and The Bible. He is not afraid to air his personal opinions, because he says they are based on truth and what he sees. Ali Baba defends his controversy by saying "Ultimately, I am not a judge, therefore I cannot pass judgement- only God can judge. I am accountable only for my own life, nobody else's."
